Alcohol and tobacco

Alcohol and tobacco are popular thing because many people do them. Tobacco companies use many methods to promote their products like celebrities in Hollywood. Advertisers use celebrities in their ads and commercials because they know that there are kids that looking up to these people. They want to get the young people hooked on alcohol and tobacco at a young age so they can make more money.

Tobacco is also a hot topic of advertising. Tobacco is one of the leading causes of lung cancer, which can sometimes be deadly. Tobacco advertising is also targeted at teens and young people just as alcohol is. Tobacco ads include idols smoking, people looking cool and a stress free. Many teens face issues dealing with the “in crowd” and stress and think cigarettes are stress relievers. I think it interesting because the tobacco companies aren’t supposed to advertise on TV. So they find other ways to advertise like in movies, TV shows and TV movies. They pay actors millions of dollars to smoke or drink their product in a movie.

Alcohol companies do the same type of things they make their products look like their fun or for cool people and the right thing to do. I think this is bad for everyone because people tend to influence others like friend and family. This is why I think you see more and more kids and teens drinking alcohol and smoking tobacco and parents who don’t really care or even know about it.

What I like about blogging

I like blogging because it is interesting I can talk about anything. I like how people have there own pages with there own style. People can read about what other people think and look at how they style their page. If someone say something I agree or disagree with I can comment on it. This is some reason I like blogging.

the urban legends

The urban legends I choose that I thought was interesting were microwaving food in plastic containers releases cancer causing agents into the food. The other was Mountain dew will shrink testicles and lower sperm count. These things are FALSE Mountain dew doesn’t shrink your testicle and microwaving food in plastic doesn’t cause cancer. The one that I found to be TRUE was prepackaged salads may contain e coli. This is something I didn’t know an you might not have either so be careful.

To me media violence is everywhere and is used in lot of thing like movie, television shows and games. Media violence is also used to sell thing. Media violence has a negative on the youth because children learn from what they see, even if it's on TV. or the big screen.

Media violence is used in all type of movie. The main reason the youth is attracted to these movies is because they do well in the box office and tend to air on public TV. We can view these types of graphic movies on television containing graphic sex scenes, bad language and graphic violence. Some television stations now show these movies in the early evening, when children could be watching most of these movies are extremely violent, containing graphic sex scenes, bad language, and violent deaths.
